Most of the bands, solo musicians and artists in Shenzhen has been in the city for several years and from time to time, new people come in to fill up an open slot or make way for new ones. To date, Planet Art Council takes note of 3 new players in Shenzhen in the line of live music performance. Peter of ESKIMO BEACH
Our first encounter with this talented guitar player-singer-composer was at The Village Bar Shekou one Friday evening when he went up on stage to jam and rocked the house down. Barely 3 months in Shenzhen coming in from Chicago, Peter's renditions of pop covers infused with a jazz-blues-funk grooves and fills are guaranteed crowd favorites. Peter performs at The Blu Bamboo Sea World in Shekou every Thursday night. Gerald or Jek of TERRACE ALL STARS Certainly worthy joining an all star cast of musicians in Shekou Shenzhen, Gerald or Jek as close friends call him is a popular figure in the Philippines. Belonging to a multi-awarded band I-Axe with a Platinum record in the Philippines, their hit song "Ako'y Sa Iyo" without doubt is one of the best love songs the Philippine music industry has to offer with almost every Filipino knowing the words to it. He shared the stage with Terrace All Stars or T.A.S. at the Terrace Bar for a month's performance and headed back to the Philippines to continue on some studio projects. Neypacs of KAKTOOZ After several months of playing the circuit with the help of guitar wizard Steve Jones of Lone Star from the UK, Kaktooz has finally finished the tedious process of documentations for their permanent guitar player named Neypacs. He is scheduled to arrive this coming Tuesday, June 25. Neypacs previously belonged to Fort Republic, another well known act in the northern part of the Philippines, Pampanga with extensive following. Kaktooz is lucky enough to have gotten hold of him and Fort Republic was very supportive. Neypacs is a singer-guitarist and songwriter as well with a clear vision of his goals in music and Kaktooz is looking forward to a long relationship and high energy performances.
