Enter Coco Chen.
Without doubt, Coco Chen is Shenzhen's premiere female country singer. She usually performs at Spurs, a country bar at Sea World Square, Shekou, Shenzhen. At times she performs with John Hutton, another great male country singer, or as a solo act. Shekou's' music scene, where everybody knows almost anybody, Coco Chen and Gone Wild have crossed paths many times either at gigs or at after party parties over at Miami Bar or Choppers both in Shekou. Lately, Gone Wild has decided to have Coco Chen as a female singer to fill up the gap. It was a very unlikely team-up since Gone Wild's genre is mostly hard rock while Coco Chen's is folk and country, but it was worth the interest and wait.
Sure enough, Gone Wild featured Coco Chen at Enigma and the merger also performed at PAC-U, Planet Art Council's Grand Launching Beach Concert. Gone Wild has done a great task in making the necessary adjustments for Coco while she has done efforts as well to blend in with the hard rocking band. Unlikely, yes, but it was a great team-up with Gone Wild projecting some new influences in music and Coco Chen banging on those Gone Wild tunes with a country twang. It's like mixing black coffee and milk, so different yet so matched and good when blended well together.
